We serve a wide range of stimulus (Test & Measurements) and process power needs in applications including semiconductor fabrication, commercial and defense ATE, oil exploration, solar array and battery string simulation, avionics, general R&D; and EMC compliance testing. As an enhancement to our Global Customer Service Team in Weiterstadt, we are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer that will service all of Europe. Position Summary: The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing on-site analysis and repair/maintenance on the complete range of AMETEK programmable power supplies. Provide on-site training to customers on the operation and functionality of the power supplies. Responsibilities: Maintains a positive image of AMETEK within the industry by providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers Assists customers in resolving technical problems Use manual/automated test system to record test results using ATP (Acceptance Test Procedures) Perform basic to intermediate level troubleshooting to isolate and determine the root cause on a digital and analog circuitry Performs factory and on-site service including; installation, repair, calibration, product upgrade and preventative maintenance Coordinates with customer service to requisition replacement equipment and facilitate equipment returns Completes timely and accurate service logs/work orders Maintains an accurate inventory of equipment within service center; coordinates with customer service to replenish equipment as it is used Escalates issues that cannot be directly resolved to service management for prompt resolution Perform related duties as assigned Requirements: Associate degree in electronics/electrical, a further education (e.g. Bachelor) would be an advantage Five years of equivalent experience as a Field Service Technician/Engineering or Bench Technician, prior power supply or manufacturing industry experience is a plus Demonstrated the ability to test, calibrate, and troubleshoot AC and DC power supplies Detail-oriented, well organized, self motivated with the ability to multi-task Strong organizational skills, demonstrate the ability to work in a self directed and independent manner and prioritizing work appropriately Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access Knowledge and understanding of theory of digital and analog circuitry, ability to troubleshoot to component level Excellent communication skills in English as well as good German skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers Travel required up to 75% of the time Our Offer: A versitale and exciting workday High independence in a fast growing innovative environment Newly launched facility with 7 other Business Units on location Administrative, IT and logistics support provided by our back office team Integral member of a larger technical support team How to apply: Are you interested?
