GEMÜ Valves Africa, based in Johannesburg, is one of the various sales representations worldwide. Place of work is Johannesburg, South Africa. Purpose: The key goal is to implement group strategy and to maximize profit and generate growth. As the first face-to-face contact point with customers, you are responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, projecting the GEMÜ image and ensure and develop ongoing business. Furthermore, you are responsible for gathering relevant market information and identifying future business and applications. Reporting to General Manager. Detail description of responsibilities: 1. Sales Advice and support to existing customers, potential customers, as well as defined key customers Acquisition of new customers in existing and in new markets Implementation of group strategy Pharma/Food/Biotech Elaboration of market development strategies Monitoring and analysis of industry, market and competitors Provide technical support for customers. Evaluate technical and commercial feasibility of customer requests Responsible for calculation and commercial terms Follow-up on quotes Actively close deals Monitor payment of invoices 2. Customer relations Provide product training for customers Planning, implementation and coordination of marketing and sales activities Active participation in trade fairs and events as well as presentation and representation of the company and products at customers’ site 3. Administration Accurate reporting on regular basis, using CRM system Establish and control sales budget Close cooperation with group key account managers, product managers and office staff Monitoring sales figures and if necessary adapting the strategy to reach the objectives 4. Other responsibilities Analyze market and competitors Full responsibility in projects, from acquisition until commissioning Establish and extend network in the industry Specification work with engineering and project companies Skills, knowledge & experience required: Must have: Engineering degree in process engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering, or equivalent education Experience in sales of complex industrial products in Sub-Saharan Africa Knowledge in Pharma, Food & Beverage market as well as in Biotech Good skills in handling of technical specifications Excellence in technical sales Availability to travel in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa Initiative, assertiveness as well as contact and teamwork min. 8 years’ experience in sales of technical products Broad network of contacts within the relevant industries Excellent teamworking skills Ability to work independently Self motivating and self disciplined Perseverance, fast learner and can-do attitude Legal & valid driver’s license with no endorsements Knowledge of standard computer programs such as Microsoft word, excel, power point, and outlook Experienced in use of ERP and CRM tools Nice to have: Business acumen Sales/Marketing Qualification and/or MBA Degree Fluent in English and German, Afrikaans or Dutch of advantage PLEASE NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
