management of soils and responsible land governance worldwide stakeholders include policy-makers scientists from different disciplines civil society international organizations students farmers and business representatives in 2015 the event attracted more than 600 participants from 80 countries the preparation process combines initiating international debates on soil and land issues as well as program associate (m/f) ref-nr -gsf-17 the position: the incumbent will support the global soil um administrative unit in all administrative and budgetary matters regarding the global soil week specifically the successful applicant would be expected to: support the global soil um administrative unit as well as the -internal administrative staff in all project related tasks (this includes accounting obtaining offers commissioning and other on-going administrative tasks) prepare monitor and follow-up on work plans and budgets correspond with national and international partners of the global soil um effectively organize implement and manage all physical and virtual internal and external meetings organize national and international business trips work effectively as part of an international and transdisciplinary team and to resourcefully manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously ability to work independently as well as contribute to the global soil um team processes in the field of sustainable soil and land governance requirements: successfully completed training as a management assistant or a comparable qualification preferably experience in the management of a third-party funded project excellent written and oral communication skills in both english and german several years of experience as a management assistant or a similar position preferably in research or policy institutions excellent command of office software proven capacity to communicate professionally with international representatives from business civil society and government experience in the organization of regular meetings workshops and large multi-stakeholder conferences is a strong asset (this includes participant management room bookings travel and communication with external service providers) deft and appropriate manner in an international working environment high degree of independence flexibility initiative and commitment enthusiasm flexibility and a commitment to working within a transdisciplinary policy-relevant field this position will run until 31 december 2016 with an initial probation period of six months it will run mal
